Anambra State House Of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the managing director Anambra Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to urgently do a palliative work on the failed portion of the Nnokwa-Nnobi Road.

The Chief sponsor of the motion who is also the member representing Idemili South, Hon. Chukwuebuka Igwe during his presentation stated that the provision of section 15(3)(a) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria as amended provides that the State shall be responsible for providing adequate facilities so as to ease the free movement of people, goods and services throughout the federation.
According to Hon. Igwe “The Nnokwa-Nnobi Road is very strategic road connecting Adazi-Nnokwa-Nnobi-Nnewi, serving the needs of many motorist and communities along the road.
“The present state of this road if left unattended to will endanger both the lives of the road users and by extension properties of the surrounding communities.
“The urgent rehabilitation of the failed portion of this road will reinvigorate the socio-economic activities in the affected communities.”
In their various submission, the Rember Representing Idemili North, Hon. Azubike Udemezue, Member Representing Ogbaru, Hon. Noble Igwe, Member Representing Aguata One, Hon. Tony Mobile, Member Representing Anaocha One, Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi, Member Representing Ihiala Two, Hon. Golden Iloh, and Member Representing Njikoka One Constituency, Hon. Jude Akpua supported the motion and called for an urgent palliative work on the road.
“According to the lawmakers, the road needs prompt intervention and failure to give it the much needed attention will warrant more expenses cost of reconstruction in the future.
