Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the re-appointment of the Transition Committee Chairmen and councilors of the twenty-one Local government areas in the state.

The House moved to confirmed their appointments in line with section two hundred and eight of the Local government law during plenary as requested by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to allow the TC Chairmen pilot the affairs of their various local government areas for three months.

It was observed that two Transition Committee chairmen were changed; namely, Hon. Kingsley Obi to was replaced by Engineer. Anayor Orjiakor for Ihiala Local Government and Hon. ThankGod Anagoh replaced Mr. Emma Ucheze of Awka North Local Government Council Area respectively.

The 21 Transition Committee Chairmen includes; Hon. Livinus Onyenwe – Anyamelum. Prince Sunday Neville Uchendu – Orumba South. Hon. ThankGod Anagor – Awka South. Engineer Anayor Orjiakor – Ihiala, Hon. Onyemaobi Augustine – Dunukofia. Hon. Amaka Obi – Idemili South. Hon. ChuksBrown Ezeoba – Idemili North, Hon. Anaegbunum Pascal – Ogbaru, Hon. Emeka Orji – Onitsha South. Hon. Chimezie Obi – Ekwusigo. Hon. Ogochukwu Ekwueme – Orumba North. Hon. Ozor Ikechukwu – Anaocha. Hon. Clement Aguiyi – Njikoka. Hon. Emma Nweke – Oyi. Hon Anselm Onuorah – Anambra East and Hon. Ikenna Aniagboso – Nnewi South amongst others.

The Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze while congratulating the TC Chairmen urged them to go back to their various council areas and address relevant issues at the grass root as the third tier of the state government.

Hon. Somtochukwu charged the Transition Committee Chairmen of the twenty one Local government areas of the state to carry their councillors along as they work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the House to achieve the Governor’s vision of building a liveable and prosperous homeland for Ndi Anambra.

In their separate remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local government, Chief Neville Uchendu, Awka South Council Mayor, Hon. ThankGod Anagor, Idemili North TC Chairman, Hon. ChuksBrown Ezeoba and their Ihiala counterpart, Engineer. Anayor Orjiakor while expressing their joy over the confirmation commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the reappointment.

They also commended the support from their various council areas and promised to serve their Local Government in line with his vision for Anambra state to deliver the dividends of democracy.

In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ayamelum Local government area, Mr. Livinus Onyenwe expressed gratitude to the Speaker and the entire Anambra 8th Assembly members for their advice and encouragement and assured the House that the Transition Committee Chairmen will continue to live up to expectations and affirmed that in the next three months, more achievements will be recorded in the entire 21 Local Government Council Area.
