Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo has today 1st August, 2023 commissioned the Solution Innovative District (SID) Technology Incubation Center to empower more youths.
Governor Soludo who performed ground opening function at the De-Destination housing the temporary site of the centre in Awka expressed excitement at the prospect of the tech revolution which Anambra is already geared up towards providing the needed enablers for the ecosystem to thrive.
While emphasizing that the greatest resource of Anambra is her human capital, the Governor reaffirmed the readiness of his administration to mine, harness and put them to maximum use.

“In the face of disruptive economic changes that will greet the end of the fuel subsidy regime, only an empowered and creative human capital can appreciate the opportunities that will follow a post-subsidy regime. In Anambra, we are already looking at these opportunities and hope that our young people will lead the charge for the prosperity of the now and the future, he added.”
The Governor pointed out that his government is desirous of equipping the youths of Anambra and the children in particular, saying that the time demands government at all levels to double their efforts at providing infrastructure that will energize the private sector.
While also congratulating the twenty thousand Anambra youths who completed the “Level Up Anambra” training, Governor Soludo pointed out that judging from the ongoing disruptive but necessary and inevitable changes in the country, there is the need for youths to look up to the opportunities replete in those disruptions.
Governor Soludo went further to thank Microsoft and Wootlab foundation for partnering with his government and added that SID is in line with his agenda of technology everywhere and everything technology, stressing that multiple scalable skills are needed to succeed in the future.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu in his remark said that the industry to partner with Solution Innovation District to enthrone the digital tribe with innovations and creativity.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation, Miss Chinwe Okoli said that the Solution Innovation District take-off center will create jobs and engage youths meaningfully.
She said that business ideas will be incubated, the existing ones will be provided with technical support to grow better while many will be trained in digital skills to meet the demands of the 21st century technological innovations.
Contributing, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba noted that the project is to amplify the efforts of the government for the youth as human capital development is pivotal to the Governor’s vision to create quality jobs.
The event climaxed with the presentation of laptops by the Governor to the successful participants of Level Up Anambra Cohorts one and two.
Top government functionaries, Transition Committee Chairmen, and youths from across the state attended the event.
