……….Commends His Palliative Measures To Cushion The Effects Of Petroluem Subsidy Removal.

Anambra State Head of service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, mni has stated that the Executive/Legislative Retreat is a clear indication that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR places high premium on Human Capital Development.

Speaking with the newsmen on the significance of the retreat, Barrister Igwegbe maintained that apart from fostering a symbiotic relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government, it will sharpen the minds of the participants for effective service delivery.

She noted that what is expected from those occupying leadership positions is to impact positively on the lives of the people.

She posited that creation of the Legislative Budget and Research Office (LBRO) in the House of Assembly will make the work of both the Finance and Appropriation and Public Accounts Committees easier and will enhance due diligence in budgetary processes. She thanked the Governor for approving the establishment of LBRO in the State Legislature.

Barrister Igwegbe maintained that the various palliatives rolled out by the Soludo Administration following the removal of the petroleum subsidy show that the present government in Anambra State has a human face. These measures according to her include cash awards to all public servants and tax exemptions for some classes of business people in the state.

She went further to affirm that no civil servant, public servant or pensioner will be left behind in the application of the palliative measures put in place by the Anambra State Government. She charged workers to reciprocate the gesture by putting in their best in their various work places.

The Anambra State Head of Service, used the opportunity to advise heads of Parastatals and Agencies to always see those under them as team players towards the development of Anambra State.

On the forthcoming 32nd year anniversary of Anambra State, Barrister Igwegbe who described it as a period for sober reflection, charged Ndi Anambra to take full ownership of the state by being alive to their responsibilities.
