Polls have officially closed in Turkey’s elections, as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan faces a herculean task to keep opposition leader, Kemal Kilicdaroglu at bay.

Kemal Kilicdaroglu, a trained economist and a retired civil servant, has led the main opposition party, the Republican People’s Party since 2010.

Issues shaping the elections are centered on; the economy, brain drain, earthquake-relief operations, and refugees among others.
