Michael Aondoakaa, a former Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, has stated the furore approximately President-decide on, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s twin citizenship is a trifling educational exercise.

Recall that the Guinea Passport of Tinubu prompted a stir after surfacing on social media weeks ago.

Although the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, brushed off the claims that Tinubu has twin citizenship, a few critics believed the President-decide on had a case to answer.

But, Aondoakaa, SAN, in an Arise Television Interview on Monday, placed the problem to rest, pronouncing anybody born in Nigeria and who received citizenship in a foreign country can contest an election in Nigeria.

Aondoakaa stated: “But assuming it become withinside the petition, the location of the regulation is that someone who has twin citizenship through naturalisation or registration can not contest for president in Nigeria.

“But someone born in Nigeria and purchased citizenship out of the country can contest an election. It might be ordinary to mention that the winner of the election, Tinubu, has the citizenship of every other country”.
